Yesterday was a day full of math! So basically, a perfect day for me! I got to meet the author of our textbooks, two guys who have found a way to math really exciting for kids (more about that when I get back), and go to dinner with quite a few of your former elementary school teachers. Can anyone calculate how many seconds it will be before it see you guys in the hallway before school in Thursday? I'm curious because I'm literally counting down the seconds until I see you guys again and I need to know where to start the count!
Here is a picture if the desk duck enjoying a lemon-pyramid dessert. It was called Lemon La La:
Here is a math problem written by your textbook author. Feel free to send me comments on this and get this discussion going! :)

ReplyDeleteIf you divide 1/4 by its self (1/4) then you will get 1 but if you divide 1/4 by 2 then you will get .125 which is more then 1/4 or .25

I miss you too Mrs. Elletson! We've had a lot of fun with our sub, but it would have been that much better if you were here! But i hope you're having fun on your trip and im glad you got to meet your favorite math celeberties! I hope the Desk Duck is having a blast too:) Oh and i got the same answer as Madison for the seconds, but of course my origional calculation was less because she did that yesterday! -Emily King, Period 5.
